Founder’s Quotes

“I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground that ‘all powers not delegated to the United States, by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.’ To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, not longer susceptible of any definition.”

Thomas Jefferson, Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank, 1791

There are over 2,500 TEA parties across this great Constitutional Republic-and growing. There are more parties than there are offices of Congressmen and Senators throughout the land. In short, we are made up of that division of the governed that are rising up against what we know to be the creation of a platform for oppressive and unjust governance by those who are authoritarian illegitimates. They act against the consent of the governed. By executing laws against the consent of the governed (the only community from which their actions can be derived) they place those actions squarely outside of the bounds of their Constitutional authority. Any legislative, judicial, or executive acts that do not meet the limits set forth by our Constitution are not only ‘not valid’, they are illegal. We are exercising the Constitutional authority to rise up against any act by authoritarian illegitimates against our consent and therefore our freedom.
